1. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, parents and officials at every game, practice and all VEMBL events.
2. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of the players ahead of any personal desire to win.
3. I will insist that the players are in a safe environment, and make sure that they are wearing their proper uniforms, including shorts free of zips, pockets and/or buckles.
4. I will provide support for parents, other coaches and officials working with the players to aid in providing a positive, enjoyable experience for all people involved.
5. I will remember that the game is always for children, never for adults.
6. I will show support for the players by cheering all good plays – whether it is my player or the opponent.
7. I will do my very best to make the players basketball experience an enjoyable one.
8. I will insist that the players treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed and ethnicity or ability.
9. I will not yell at, shout at, or degrade any player, parent, coach or official and I shall not approach the scorekeepers table during play.
10. I will ensure that parents aren’t on the gym floor or at the bench in either a game or practice.
